Tile Tick Core RPG
The framework I’m using to build an old-school, skill-based RPG in Unity.
Core RPG connects the systems a game like this needs: movement, combat, inventory, equipment, skills and the people and objects that fill the world. The content editors are there so adding a new item or NPC doesn’t mean rebuilding the same setup each time.
The content editors
Use the Item Database to create and organise items, NPC Database for characters, and the world-object, dialogue, shop and quest tools to connect their interactions. The guides show how those definitions become something the player can use.

What is included
- Tile Tick Movement as the movement foundation.
- Combat, inventory, equipment and skill systems.
- NPCs, loot, dialogue, shops, banking and quests.
- Saving, content editors and demo content to learn from.
Use the contents and licensing notes included with your installed package for its exact art, editor and dependency versions.
The handbook also covers current development work on multiplayer, streamed worlds and World Forge integration. Those sections are marked as development-build documentation; check the version notes before expecting a newer feature in the store download.
Before you import
The store listing names Unity 6000.5.5f1 as its original Editor version. Start with a clean or backed-up project and use the package versions listed by your release. The development setup uses URP, Input System, NGO, Unity UI and its supplied Transport package.
Don’t import overlapping standalone Movement or World Forge assemblies into a Core project. Hosting, a production authentication service and a cloud database are separate from the Unity package.
Requirements and setupDemo & release history
Version 1.0.0 was released on 14 August 2026. Versions and updating.
Use the included Unity demo to inspect the systems and make changes. ChronicleScape will be the hosted game demo and framework showcase.
